The Snowflake Moray Eel is perhaps the most popular eel in the hobby due to its manageable size and hardy nature. It features a beautiful, mottled white-to-cream body adorned with black "snowflake-like" blotches that contain bright yellow centers. Its eyes are often a vivid yellow, and it has a notably blunt snout. Like the Zebra Moray, the Snowflake is a "crustacean-crusher" rather than a "fish-eater," though they are opportunistic and may accidentally grab a small, slow-moving fish during a feeding frenzy. They are famous escape artists and require a very tight-fitting lid with no gaps. They are very responsive to target feeding with tongs and can become quite tame over time, quickly learning to recognize their owner at feeding time.
