The Threadfin Butterflyfish is an iconic reef dweller, prized for its striking white and yellow body adorned with diagonal chevron markings and a distinctive dark spot near the trailing edge of its dorsal fin. Mature specimens develop a dramatic trailing threadlike extension from the dorsal fin, adding exceptional elegance to their movement. They are active, curious swimmers that require plenty of open swimming room alongside mature rockwork for exploration. While hardy and peaceful toward non-similar tankmates, they will readily pick at soft corals, stony corals, and anemones, making them best suited for fish-only or fish-only-with-live-rock setups.
