The Orange Shoulder Tang reaches a Max Size of 35 cm and is known for its dramatic color change. Juveniles are a solid, bright yellow, while adults transition into a two-tone grey body with a striking neon orange horizontal bar (the shoulder) outlined in blue. They are peaceful for a tang and are excellent at sifting through the upper layers of sand for film algae and detritus. Because of their size and swimming needs, they require a long tank with plenty of open sand and rockwork.
