The Chevron Tang is famous for its dramatic color transformation as it matures, reaching a Max Size of 28 cm. As a juvenile, it is arguably one of the most beautiful fish available, boasting a brilliant neon orange-to-red body covered in intricate, dark blue chevron-shaped markings. As it transitions into adulthood, the colors darken into a deep olive-to-black with fine horizontal lines. Like other Bristletooth tangs, it has specialized teeth designed to rasp film algae and detritus off the glass and rockwork, making it an exceptional utility fish for keeping a reef tank looking pristine.
