The Red Sea ReefMat 250 is a compact, fully automated smart fleece roller filter built specifically for marine reef aquariums. It completely replaces traditional filter socks by trapping solid detritus, fish waste, and uneaten food on a motorized roll of filter fleece before it can break down and spike organic nutrient levels.
As the non-woven polyester fleece captures debris, it slowly clogs, causing the water level inside the filter housing to rise. Once the water contacts a built-in solid-state level sensor, an internal DC drive motor is triggered to automatically wind up the dirty fleece and expose a fresh, clean section of the mat.
