The Gold Spot Rabbitfish, also known as the Orange-spotted Rabbitfish, is a large and impressive species that can reach a Max Size of 35 cm. Its body is a silvery-grey covered in a beautiful pattern of small, golden-orange spots, with a large, prominent yellow spot located just below the rear of the dorsal fin. These are powerful swimmers and are among the most effective algae consumers in the family, capable of clearing significant amounts of macroalgae in a short time. Due to their large size and high metabolism, they require a very large aquarium with plenty of open space and strong filtration. They are exceptionally hardy but can be quite boisterous, so they are best kept with other large, semi-aggressive species.
