The Decorated Rabbitfish, also known as the Masked Rabbitfish, is an exquisitely patterned and elegant species reaching a Max Size of 38 cm. Its body features a stunning pale-yellow to silvery base, covered in an intricate network of fine, wavy blue-to-turquoise lines that create a shimmering effect as the fish moves through the water. Its most defining characteristic is a prominent, dark diagonal band that runs from the chin, through the eye, to the top of the head, appearing almost like a "mask." These fish are high-energy grazers that will tirelessly pick at various types of algae, including filamentous hair algae. Because they can grow quite large and are very active swimmers, they require a substantial amount of open water and a high-volume filtration system to maintain their health.
