The Lined Bristletooth Tang, also known as the Striated Surgeonfish, is a highly effective herbivore featuring a warm brownish-orange body covered in fine, wavy horizontal turquoise-blue lines. Equipped with specialized, flexible comb-like teeth, this species works tirelessly to consume unwanted film algae and fine detritus from live rock and gravel beds. They are ideally suited for mature reef aquariums where natural grazing opportunities are abundant. While generally peaceful with non-tang tankmates, they can be territorial against other bristletooth tangs in smaller setups.
