Overview
The Sparkling Gourami (or Pygmy Gourami) is a captivating micro-species that has become a sensation in the Australian nano-tank scene. Growing to just 4 cm, their sleek bodies are covered in rows of shimmering, iridescent blue, green, and red scales that catch the light like tiny glitter. They feature striking, glowing blue eyes and beautiful red-trimmed fins. An amazing bonus for hobbyists is that these little fish can actually produce a distinct, audible "purring" or clicking sound when they are happy or communicating with each other. They are a gentle, shy species perfect for heavily planted nano tanks.
