Overview
The Dwarf Gourami is one of the most iconic centerpiece fish in the world and a staple across Australian local fish shops. Boasting a striking, compressed body decorated with brilliant, alternating diagonal stripes of electric blue and fiery red-orange, they add an instant, painting-like pop of color to any tank. They are generally peaceful, slow-moving, and well-suited for medium-sized community aquariums. Because males can occasionally be territorial toward each other, they are best kept as a single centerpiece or as a bonded male-female pair alongside gentle tank mates like tetras and corydoras.
