Often confused with the Johanni, the Maingano is a highly distinct Mbuna where both males and females display the same striking coloration. They boast a deep navy-blue body marked by horizontal lines of electric neon-cyan that seem to glow under standard aquarium LEDs. They are highly territorial rock-dwellers that require plenty of cave networks to feel secure.
