The Bimaculatus Anthias, or Twinspot Anthias, is a robust and exceptionally colorful species hailing primarily from the Indian Ocean. Their coloration is a complex tapestry of neon pink, fuchsia, and purple, often accented by irregular yellow horizontal lines that give the fish a "glowing" appearance. The name "Bimaculatus" refers to the two distinct red-to-maroon spots found on the dorsal fin of the males. This species is generally hardier than many of its more delicate relatives, making it a favorite for reef keepers looking for a larger, bolder anthias. They are slightly more assertive than other Pseudanthias and should be provided with a tank that has high water flow and plenty of rocky crevices to establish territories.
