Zebra Danio (Danio rerio)

Overview

The Zebra Danio is an absolute cornerstone of the Australian aquarium hobby and arguably one of the hardiest tropical fish in existence. Featuring a sleek, streamlined body wrapped in crisp, horizontal navy-blue and silver stripes that run all the way into the tail, these fish are in constant, playful motion. They are exceptionally fast swimmers that inhabit the very top layer of the aquarium, making them fantastic "dither fish" to help draw shyer species out of hiding. Because they are practically bulletproof and can tolerate a wide temperature range, they are highly recommended for beginners and newly cycled aquariums.
