The Vanderbilt’s Chromis is a sophisticated, smaller chromis that offers a unique colour palette. Its body is primarily a metallic silver-blue with fine, horizontal yellow stripes running the length of the fish. The tail and dorsal fins are often bordered in black and yellow, giving it a high-contrast appearance during movement. They are a schooling species found on exposed reef fronts where there is significant wave action. In an aquarium, they require high water flow and plenty of oxygen. They are peaceful and do best in small groups, where they will spend their time hovering in the current and feeding on zooplankton.
