Description

Product overview

The Triton Lab ICP-OES kit is a mail-in saltwater analysis. Home kits miss traces and metals that stall growth, shrink tissue, and brown pink, purple, or green colour.

TRITON Applied Reef Bioscience runs your sample through ICP-OES (the water is heated to about 10,000°C) and reports about 45 parameters at parts-per-billion. You treat what is actually missing or high, instead of guessing.

For a full mineral and organics picture, pair this with Triton N-Doc Organics lab test

How it works

  1. Collect: Rinse the vials 3 times in tank water, fill them, and seal tight.
  2. Register: In the Triton Lab Portal, create a tank profile and enter the kit barcodes.
  3. Post: Box the vials, add the lab label, and send them to your regional Triton lab.
  4. Results: You get an email when the scan is done. Open the dashboard for the 45-parameter report and dosing suggestions.

Key features

  • 45 parameters: Macros, traces, nutrients, and contaminants in one scan.
  • ppb accuracy: Catches shifts and toxins earlier than typical hobby kits.
  • Traffic-light dashboard: Green, yellow, and red so you see what is out of range at a glance.
  • Dosing guide: Supplement suggestions based on your real tank volume — no spreadsheet required.
  • Metals: Flags copper, aluminium, lead, and tin that home tests often miss.
  • Trends: Charts over multiple tests so you can see consumption and whether your plan is working.

Water and system compatibility

  • Water: Marine and reef only. Not for freshwater.
  • Use: SPS, LPS, soft coral, and FOWLR.
  • Triton Method: Supports topping up only the elements livestock use, if you run a low or no water-change system.

What it screens

  • Macros: Sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), strontium (Sr), boron (B), bromine (Br), sulphur (S)
  • Traces: Iodine (I), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), vanadium (V), molybdenum (Mo), cobalt (Co), lithium (Li), barium (Ba)
  • Nutrients and contaminants: Phosphorus (P), phosphate (PO₄), silicon (Si), aluminium (Al), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), tin (Sn)

Testing and instructions

Always follow dosage & directions on product packaging.

  • Routine: Every 4–8 weeks while corals are growing hard.
  • Problems: Test now if you see browning, bleaching, or poor polyp extension.
  • New tank: After cycling, before adding sensitive frags, to check the salt mix.
  • Register first: Link the vial barcodes in the Triton Lab Portal before you post, or the lab cannot match the sample.
  • Rinse: Flush both 14 mL vials three times with tank water to clear dust, then fill.
  • RO/DI check: Use the second sequence if you want to confirm source water is near 0 TDS.
