Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri)

Overview

For customers with planted nano aquariums who want the beauty of a rainbowfish on a smaller scale, the Threadfin Rainbowfish is an elite choice. Native to northern Australia and New Guinea, these slender micro-fish are famous for the male's extraordinary, feather-like, highly elongated black dorsal and anal fins. When courting or sparring, males will proudly erect these massive fins like tiny sails while rapidly flashing a brilliant neon-yellow to red body sheen. They are exceptionally gentle, timid, and have tiny mouths, making them perfect companions for premium freshwater shrimp or other peaceful nano species.
