Description
Commonly known as the Foxface Lo, this species is a staple of the marine aquarium world, reaching a Max Size of 25 cm. It features a brilliant, solid yellow body and a distinctive black and white face. Unlike the One Spot, the standard Foxface lacks any markings on its yellow flanks. These are robust and active fish that spend their time patrolling the reef for algae. They are excellent "dither fish" for larger systems, as their active nature can help more timid fish feel secure. While they are peaceful toward almost all tankmates, they should not be kept with other rabbitfish unless the tank is very large. Caution is advised when placing hands in the tank, as their venomous spines can deliver a painful sting similar to a bee or wasp.
