The Scopas Tang, or Brown Tang, is a hardy and underrated species reaching a Max Size of 20 cm. It features a sophisticated gradient coloration that transitions from a light, speckled tan at the head to a deep chocolate brown or black toward the tail. Under certain lighting, subtle green or blue hues may shimmer across its body. It is an exceptional algae eater, tirelessly picking at rockwork. While it lacks the bright colors of its yellow or purple cousins, its unique texture and color gradient make it a beautiful and useful addition to a community reef tank.
