The Saddleback Clownfish is an eye-catching species named for the wide white saddle-like patch that dips down across its back from the dorsal fin, set against a rich dark brown to black body with an orange face and belly. They are dynamic swimmers that frequently hover near the substrate or around host anemones like the Carpet Anemone (Stichodactyla haddoni). While slightly more delicate during initial acclimation than standard ocellaris clownfish, they acclimate into hardy and rewarding display inhabitants when provided with pristine water quality and a varied omnivorous diet.
