The Red Sea ReefMat 1200 is a heavy-duty, fully automated smart fleece roller filter engineered for large-scale marine reef aquariums. It completely replaces traditional filter socks by mechanically pulling solid waste, detritus, and floating organic matter out of the water column before it can rot and drive up nitrate and phosphate levels.
The unit utilizes a solid-state water level sensor paired with a high-torque DC drive motor. As the heavy-duty, non-woven polyester fleece traps debris, it begins to clog, causing the water level inside the filter chassis to rise. Once the water makes contact with the titanium sensor probes, the motor automatically winds up the dirty fleece onto a spent core and pulls a fresh, clean section of the mat into place.
