Pebble Starfish (Choriaster granulatus)

Commonly referred to as the Doughnut Starfish or Granular Starfish, the Pebble Starfish stands out with its plump, thick, pillowy arms and smooth, leather-like texture. Usually exhibiting soft pink, cream, or tan coloration with darker highlights, this unique starfish offers a completely different look from typical thin-armed species. While peaceful toward fish, it is a opportunistic scavenger that can grow quite large and may occasionally sample soft corals or small sessile invertebrates, so it is best suited for fish-only or carefully monitored reef systems.
