The Pakistani Butterflyfish, or Collare Butterflyfish, is a sophisticated species with a deep chocolate-brown to charcoal body. Each scale is tipped with a lighter cream color, creating a beautiful "netted" or pearlescent effect across its flanks. Its face is dramatically marked with a broad white band behind the eyes and a bright red-to-orange tail fin that provides a sudden burst of color. These fish are known to be quite social and often do best when kept in mated pairs. While they are stunning, they are considered difficult to keep as they are obligate corallivores in the wild and can be very stubborn when transitioning to prepared aquarium foods.
