The One Spot Foxface is one of the most popular utility fish in the hobby, attaining a Max Size of 20 cm. It is virtually identical to the standard Foxface Lo except for a large, distinct black spot located on the upper rear of its vibrant yellow body. Its face is a sharp contrast of black and white, giving it a masked, "fox-like" appearance. This species is highly valued for its ability to consume tough algae, including the dreaded hair algae and bubble algae (Valonia). They are hardy and adaptable but are known for their dramatic "stress cammo," where they turn a mottled brown and black when frightened or sleeping. They are generally reef-safe but may occasionally nip at LPS corals or zoanthids if they are not kept well-fed with dried seaweed.
