The Niger Triggerfish is a hobbyist favorite due to its unique "glowing" appearance and lyre-tail, reaching a Max Size of 30 cm (up to 50 cm in the wild). Its color is highly variable, shifting from deep purple to forest green depending on its mood and the lighting. It is easily identified by its bright red-to-orange teeth, which are visible even when its mouth is closed. While they start as very peaceful juveniles, they can become more territorial as they age. They are excellent "starter" triggers because they are exceptionally hardy and highly interactive with their owners.
