Moss Tub - Spiky Moss - 30ml

Spiky Moss (Taxiphyllum sp. ‘Spiky’) is a larger, tougher moss than Christmas Moss. Deep-green, branched fronds look a bit like miniature pine twigs and add texture on wood and rock.

It comes in a sealed 30 ml tissue-culture tub, grown sterile — so no pest snails, duckweed, nuisance algae, or fish pathogens. Safe to add to shrimp tanks and planted aquariums.

Directions

How to attach

• Open the tub, lift out the moss, and rinse off any gel or liquid under lukewarm tap water.
• Do not drop it in as one clump — the inside will brown from lack of light. Split it into thin, small patches.
• Fix the patches to wood or porous rock with aquarium superglue gel, or wrap them on with moss cotton thread. Rhizoids lock on over a few weeks.

Conditions

Keep it on the cooler side (20°C–25°C). Vertical surfaces let the shoots fan out and catch light.

Maintenance

Give the moss gentle, steady flow so detritus does not sit in the fronds and trigger hair algae. Trim the outer tips with sharp scissors when it gets too bushy.
