The McCosker's Flasher Wrasse is a small, vibrant, and incredibly active species that is a joy to observe in a reef setting. During the day, the male displays spectacular "flashing" behavior, where it extends its flamboyant, filamented fins and intensifies its colors to impress females or rivals. It is a peaceful, open-water swimmer that does not bother corals or invertebrates. Because they are prone to jumping when startled, a secure, tight-fitting lid is an absolute necessity for this species.
