The Maroon Clownfish is a classic and striking marine inhabitant featuring a velvet dark red to deep maroon body contrasted by three crisp, bright white vertical stripes. Outfitted with sharp, defensive cheek spines, this species is well-equipped to defend its chosen host anemone against much larger fish. They are remarkably hardy, disease-resistant, and possess lots of character, making them a staple in marine aquaria. Because of their aggressive nature when fully grown, they are best kept individually or as an established mated pair in tanks with larger, semi-aggressive community species.
