Product overview
LCA Shrimp Mineral Premium is made in Australia by Liverpool Creek Aquariums. It adds the minerals freshwater shrimp need for healthy moulting, osmoregulation, and growth.
In tanks using reverse osmosis (RO) or deionised (DI) water, calcium, magnesium, and trace elements are often missing. That can cause failed moults (including the “white ring of death”) and slow juvenile growth. This liquid remineraliser raises general hardness (GH) with a calcium-to-magnesium ratio of about 3.8:1.
Key features
-
3.8:1 GH ratio: Calcium and magnesium balanced for freshwater dwarf shrimp.
-
Moulting support: Supplies minerals used to harden a new exoskeleton after a shed, which can reduce failed moults.
-
Vitamin C and traces: Includes micronutrients and vitamin C to support general health.
-
RO/DI and soft water: Rebuilds GH when conditioning RO or soft tap water, without unexpected shifts to other parameters.
-
Pump dispenser: Easy, mess-free dosing with no syringes or measuring cups.
Water and system compatibility
-
Water: Freshwater shrimp aquariums only. Not for marine or reef tanks.
-
Livestock: Made for Caridina (such as Crystal Red and bee shrimp) and Neocaridina (such as cherries and rilis), as well as native freshwater shrimp and snails.
-
Parameters: Raises GH. It does not change carbonate hardness (KH) or baseline pH.
Dosing and instructions
Always follow dosage & directions on product packaging.
-
Tank dose: Add 3 pumps (6 ml) per 100 litres of aquarium water.
-
Routine: Dose 3 times per week, with a 10% weekly water change.
-
On new water: Alternatively, add 5 ml per 20 litres of new water during changes to reach a target of about 6–8 dGH.
Usage warning
Shake well before use. Check GH with a liquid test kit so hardness does not drift past the range your shrimp species need.
