Product overview
The Illumagic X4 is a 120 W reef LED in a 9.6" square body. Uneven light bleaches coral in hot spots. Cheap lenses yellow and steal PAR. The X4 uses Diffusion by Refraction (DBR) silicone optics for even spread without that lens burn. Control it from the Illumagic app.
Choose your spectrum
-
Reefer Pro X4: Full-spectrum daylight. 48 LEDs in four pucks plus two multi-chip clusters. Built for SPS growth and mixed reefs without washing out natural colour.
-
Reefer Blue X4: Actinic-heavy blues for fluorescence and depth. Beast Mode adds about 30% PAR for tanks that run strong blue.
Key features
-
DBR silicone optics: Silicone lenses that do not yellow, melt, or fade like many acrylic lenses.
-
Reef weather: Can follow cloud and weather patterns from 10 well-known natural reefs (1,000-point mapping).
-
Photo filter: In-app camera filter for coral shots without changing the tank’s daily schedule.
-
Efficiency: Maker rates unused energy at about 12.5%, with output aimed at photosynthetic peaks rather than wasted heat.
-
Wi-Fi: Auto-reconnect cloud control. Program, group, or share fixtures across tanks from the app.
-
Cooling: Stacked heatsink plus a fan. Built to stay quiet in a cabinet.

Installation and care
Always follow dosage & directions on product packaging.
-
Height: Hang 20–30 cm (8–12") above the water so the DBR optics can blend and cover the sand evenly.
-
Acclimation: Coming from T5 or a weaker LED, use Acclimation Mode at about 40% for 3 weeks so polyps are not shocked by the extra PAR.
-
Fan: Blow dust out of the top vents with canned air so the heatsink can still dump heat.
-
Mounts: Rim arms, rail kits, and hanging kits are sold separately.
