Product overview
The Fritz Copper Test Kit is a liquid reagent kit for free and total (chelated) copper in aquarium water. Copper is used against external parasites such as marine Ich and velvet. The useful dose sits close to a harmful dose, so you need a number, not a guess.
Use it in quarantine while treating, and again before you put invertebrates or corals back. They should only go in once the reading is 0 ppm.
Key features
- Free and total: Reads free copper and chelated copper, so it covers common copper medications.
- Water: Freshwater, brackish, and marine.
- Yield: Up to 90 tests per kit.
- Tap check: Can also test source water for copper from pipes.
- Read: Colour develops quickly. Match it to the chart as soon as it is mixed.
Water and system compatibility
- Water: Freshwater, brackish, and marine.
- System: Quarantine and display tanks on copper treatment. Invertebrates and corals are sensitive to copper. Do not add them until the kit reads 0 ppm.
What's included
- Copper reagent.
- Glass test tube with childproof cap.
- Colour chart.

Directions
Rinse the tube with a little tank water. Fill to the 5 ml line. Add 10 drops of reagent. Hold the bottle vertical and upside down so the drops are even. Cap and shake gently. Match the colour to the chart straight away. Rinse the tube with RO or tap water after each test so leftover reagent does not stain it.
Always follow directions on product packaging.
