The Four Stripe Damselfish is a bold and hardy species, immediately recognizable by its stark white body and four thick, vertical jet-black bands. One band passes through the eye, two through the body, and the final one covers the tail. These fish are incredibly resilient and are often used to cycle new tanks (though this is less common today). While they are stunning and active, they are notorious for their feisty temperament. As they mature, they become increasingly territorial and will fiercely defend their chosen piece of rockwork from fish much larger than themselves. They are best kept with other assertive tankmates in a system with plenty of hiding spots.
