Overview
The Crimson-Spotted Rainbowfish (frequently referred to by Aussie hobbyists as the Duboulayi) is a classic native species found throughout the eastern coastal rivers of New South Wales and Queensland. They are named for the distinctive, brilliant ruby-red spot located directly on their operculum (gill cover). Their bodies are a shimmering mosaic of silver-blue scales, decorated with fine horizontal red pinstripes and matching red-and-black patterned fins. They are incredibly fast, playful open-water swimmers that bring immense life and authentic Australian biodiversity to a display tank.
