The Common Cleaner Wrasse plays a vital ecological role by setting up "cleaning stations" where it removes parasites and dead skin from other fish. This beneficial behavior makes them a fascinating addition to a large community tank, as you will often see much larger fish lining up to be serviced. However, they have a very high metabolism and require frequent feedings (several times a day) of fine meaty foods to supplement what they forage from their tankmates.
