Burnt Sausage Sea Cucumber (Holothuria edulis)

Commonly known as the Burnt Sausage Cucumber due to its unmistakable dark reddish-brown upper body and contrasting pinkish-orange underside, this unique invertebrate brings both utility and character to the aquarium floor. It is a highly efficient vacuum cleaner for the substrate, swallowing large mouthfuls of sand, digesting the organic detritus and bacteria coating the grains, and expelling perfectly clean substrate behind it. It is entirely reef-safe and spends its time out in the open or partially tucked under low rockwork.
