Brittle Starfish (Ophiocoma sp.)

The Brittle Starfish is an exceptional, hyper-efficient member of the nocturnal cleanup crew, characterized by its central disc body and long, highly flexible, snake-like arms. The moment food hits the water, these reclusive scavengers will extend their banded arms out from deep inside the rockwork to catch stray pellets and meaty scraps. They are incredible at finding and consuming trapped organic waste in tight crevices that fish and snails simply cannot reach, making them a staple for keeping tank parameters stable.
