Blood Shrimp (Lysmata debelius)

The Blood Shrimp—also known as the Fire Shrimp—is a visually stunning masterpiece, showcasing a deep, intense crimson-red body punctuated by brilliant white spots on its carapace and clean white legs. While initially more reclusive and shy than other cleaner shrimp, it will construct a secure home within cave networks and rock arches, gradually becoming bolder over time during feeding hours. They are excellent scavengers that consume leftover food and occasionally offer cleaning services to fish, bringing unparalleled color contrast to shadowed areas of the reef.
