Black Neon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi)

Overview

The Black Neon Tetra is often recommended by Australian fish shops as a bulletproof option for both beginners and experienced keepers alike. Offering an elegant contrast to its bright blue cousins, it features a stark velvety-black lower band paired with a shimmering, iridescent silver-white upper stripe and a distinct red "eyebrow." Extremely hardy and adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, these tight-schooling fish add a sophisticated depth to community tanks and look particularly stunning in heavily planted layouts.
