Description
The Australian Stripey is a highly active, incredibly hardy, and visually striking marine species that brings continuous movement to the aquarium. Instantly recognizable by its heavily compressed, disc-shaped body, this fish features a bold pattern of horizontal, high-contrast black and bright yellow-to-gold zebra stripes that run entirely across its flank and into its fins. Naturally found in coastal reefs, rocky estuaries, and tidal pools around Australia, Stripeys are highly social schooling fish that thrive best when kept in small groups. They are exceptional utility fish for keeping a tank clean, as they are enthusiastic consumers of nuisance decorative pests like Aiptasia anemones, making them both an eye-catching and practical addition to larger systems.
