API Quick Start adds live nitrifying bacteria so you can add fish to a new aquarium without waiting weeks for the biological filter to establish on its own.

In a new tank, ammonia and nitrite can build up quickly before beneficial bacteria are in place. This is often called new tank syndrome and is a common cause of early fish loss. Quick Start is a concentrated blend of live nitrifying bacteria that starts converting this waste as soon as it is added, helping make the water safer from day one.

Suitable for Fresh or saltwater usage.

• Standard dose: 10 ml per 38 litres (10 ml per 10 US gallons) of aquarium water.
• When to use: Add to a new aquarium, after water changes, when replacing filter media, or when adding new fish to an established tank.

Tip: Quick Start does not remove chlorine. For a new tank, treat tap water with a conditioner such as API Stress Coat first, then add Quick Start.
