The Antennata Lionfish—frequently called the Spotfin Lionfish—is a stunningly elegant medium-sized predator highly prized for its unique, bare-rayed pectoral fins. Instead of standard webbing, its gorgeous pectoral rays extend far past the fin membranes like delicate, pure white-to-cream tassels that trail gracefully through the water. Its body is tightly wrapped in intricate, narrow reddish-brown and white banding, accented by beautiful dark spots clustered near the base of its fins. This nocturnal hunter is initially a bit shy but quickly acclimates to a peaceful aquarium with plenty of deep rock overhangs and low-lit caves to rest in during the day.
