Preparation & Placement Guide:
-
Pre-Soaking: Dry pieces are highly buoyant due to internal air pockets. It is recommended to weigh the wood down with rocks or glue it to slate/hardscape using cyanoacrylate gel or epoxy before submerging, or soak it in a bucket for 1–2 weeks until fully saturated.
-
Preparation: Simply rinse thoroughly under cold water before placement. Boiling can aid in the release of tannins into aqaurium water.
-
Maintenance: Harmless white biofilm may temporarily form on newly submerged branches during the first few weeks—this is completely safe and serves as a natural food source for shrimp, snails, and bristlenose catfish.
