The Dusky Wrasse is a handsome and functional sand-dwelling wrasse showcasing a dark charcoal to deep blue-black body, finely detailed with subtle iridescent green and blue scales along its flanks. They are exceptional utility fish for mature aquariums, renowned for actively preying on flatworms, pyramidellid snails, and other small marine pests. They need a fine sand bed of at least 2–3 inches to bury into at night to rest safely. They are peaceful toward most tankmates, making them a great addition to reef displays, though they may consume small ornamental crustaceans.
