Overview
The Tiger Barb is a legendary and undeniably striking staple of the Australian fishkeeping hobby. Sporting a round, deep body with a bright golden-orange background, they are instantly recognized by four bold, velvety-black vertical bands and fiery-red tips on their fins. They are incredibly playful, fast, and full of personality. Because they are highly active and possess a natural instinct to nip, they must be kept in a school of 6 or more (ideally 10+). Keeping them in a large group ensures they focus their playful energy entirely on each other rather than slow-moving or long-finned tank mates.
