Description

Product overview

Fritz Fishless Fuel is a liquid ammonia source for cycling a new tank without fish. It feeds nitrifying bacteria so you do not have to use leftover food, rotting waste, or guess with dry ammonium chloride.

Each millilitre has 40 mg total ammonia nitrogen (TAN). A measured dose raises ammonia to about 2.0 ppm so the biofilter has a steady food source before any livestock goes in.

Key features

  • Fishless: No animals in the tank while ammonia and nitrite are present.
  • Dose: Dropper bottle for small tanks. 4 drops per 3.78 L, or 5 ml per 94.6 L, for about 2.0 ppm ammonia.
  • Water: Freshwater and marine.
  • Gear: Filters, pumps, and air can stay on as normal.

Water and system compatibility

  • Water: Freshwater and marine.
  • System: Empty new tanks and sumps only. Do not use if fish, corals, or invertebrates are already in the water.

Directions

Work out the real water volume (include the sump; subtract rock, sand, and wood). Dose into strong flow. Then add a live nitrifying bacteria such as FritzZyme 7 (freshwater) or FritzZyme 9 (marine).

Test ammonia every day. Keep it between 2.0 ppm and 4.0 ppm. If it falls to 0 ppm before you are ready to stock, add a small top-up so the bacteria stay fed. The cycle is done when ammonia and nitrite both stay at 0 ppm. Only then add livestock.

Do not dose this product in a tank that already holds fish, corals, or invertebrates. Do not add animals while ammonia or nitrite reads above 0 ppm.

Always follow directions on product packaging.
