Fritz Coppersafe - 118ml

Product overview

Fritz Coppersafe is a chelated copper treatment for external parasites on fish. One dose is meant to hold about 1.5–2.0 ppm total copper for up to 30 days, so you are not topping up every day.

Use it in a fish-only tank or quarantine. It is not for reefs or any tank with invertebrates. Copper stays in solution better than simple ionic copper and does not stain silicone or gravel.

Key features

• Chelated copper: Holds a steady treatment level for up to a month from one dose.
• Used for: Ich, velvet, flukes, anchor worm, fish lice, and flatworms on fish.
• Gear: Normal carbon and UV can stay on. Take out ion-exchange resins and heavy-metal pads. Turn the protein skimmer off so it does not boil over.
• After: Large water changes plus a copper-removing resin or polyfilter until a copper test kit reads 0 ppm.

Water and system compatibility

• Water: Freshwater and marine fish-only. Not for planted display reefs or any system with corals, snails, shrimp, clams, or anemones.
• System: Quarantine and hospital tanks. Scaleless fish and loaches are copper-sensitive. Start at one-quarter to one-half dose and test often.

Pack size

Directions

Dose 5 ml (one cap) per 15 L into strong flow. That is the full course. Do not re-dose the main volume during the 30 days. If you change water, add Coppersafe only to the new water at the same 5 ml per 15 L.

Test with a copper kit that reads total / chelated copper. When treatment is finished, change water and run a copper remover until the kit reads 0 ppm before any invertebrates go in.

Caution: Do not use with corals, snails, shrimp, clams, anemones, or other invertebrates.
