Product overview
LCA Micro Mix (Shrimp Safe) is made in Australia by Liverpool Creek Aquariums. It is a liquid trace-element fertiliser for planted freshwater tanks that also keep shrimp.
Plants need micronutrients for leaf structure, colour, and general health. Many standard trace mixes contain enough copper to build up and harm sensitive invertebrates. This low-copper formula supplies the traces plants need while keeping shrimp safer.
Key features
-
Shrimp and invertebrate safe: Low-copper profile made for Caridina, Neocaridina, and ghost shrimp.
-
Trace spectrum: Concentrated micronutrients to support plant metabolism, leaf structure, and colour.
-
Split dosing: Use as the micro half of a split routine, so traces are not stored in the same bottle as macros (which can cause oxidation).
-
For planted tanks: A 3-times-per-week routine supplies enough micros for demanding, heavily planted layouts.
-
Pump dispenser: Easy, mess-free dosing with no syringes or measuring cups.
Water and system compatibility
-
Water: Freshwater aquariums only. Not for marine or reef tanks.
-
Livestock: Suitable for shrimp, crabs, snails, and community fish.
-
Fertiliser pairing: Can be used on its own, or with LCA Macro Mix (NPK) for complete plant nutrition.
Dosing and instructions
Always check dosage & direction on product packaging.
-
Standard dose: Add 1 pump (2 ml) per 100 litres of aquarium water.
-
Schedule: Dose 3 times per week (for example Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), with a 50% weekly water change.
-
High-tech tanks (high light, injected CO2, and heavy plant mass): Increase to 3 pumps (6 ml) per 100 litres, 3 times per week.
-
Low-tech tanks (low light, no CO2): Use the standard dose 1–2 times per week.
Dosing warning
3 pumps per 100 litres is the maximum dose. Do not overdose. Shake well before use.
