The Yellow Foot Hermit Crab is a tireless, miniature janitor that makes a fantastic addition to any marine cleanup crew. Instantly recognizable by its bright yellow leg joints, this small and peaceful crustacean spends its days climbing over live rock and substrate in search of nuisance algae, cyanobacteria, and detritus. Because of their tiny adult size, they are remarkably safe for reef environments, as they can easily navigate tight crevices to clean hard-to-reach areas without knocking over loose coral frags.
