The Aqua Illumination Nero Series is a line of smart, low-profile submersible wavemakers designed for reef and marine aquariums. They utilize an innovative propeller and inverted motor design to push a wide, gentle, yet powerful column of water. This ensures your tank gets excellent turnover without creating localized "laser beams" of flow that can blast and stress corals.
Key Features
-
Broad Adjustable Flow: Moves a high volume of water in a wide pattern. This keeps food, detritus, and particles suspended for filtration without battering delicate tank inhabitants.
-
Compact, Low-Profile Design: Sits incredibly close to the glass, keeping the focus on your aquascape rather than bulky equipment.
-
Aim True Magnetic Mount: The two-part magnetic mounting system allows for up to 15° of directional movement in all directions, making it easy to point the flow exactly where your tank needs it.
-
Smart App Control: Features built-in Bluetooth control. It connects natively to the Mobius or myAI apps on iOS and Android for easy scheduling and syncing with multiple pumps.
-
Integrated Physical Controller: Includes a simple, one-button wired controller for quick manual adjustments (speed changes, feed mode, or power toggle) without needing a smartphone.
-
Safety Guard Included: Every Nero pump comes with a fish guard to protect curious or slow-moving tank inhabitants (like anemones or small fish) from the propeller.
Pump Flow Modes
-
Constant Speed: Delivers a uniform stream of water at your choice of intensity.
-
Pulse: Alternates between high and low levels, which can be timed to create a standing wave or lift settled detritus out of tight rockwork corners.
-
Random: Automatically varies the flow rate throughout the day to simulate a high-energy, natural reef ecosystem.
-
Schedule Mode: Customizes a 24-hour cycle using the app, blending different modes, speeds, and intensities at specific times.
-
Feed Mode: Instantly slows down or pauses the pump for 10 minutes to allow fish and corals to eat without food being instantly swept into the overflow box.
