Mini Christmas Moss (Vesicularia sp. ‘Mini Christmas’) has the same triangular, overhanging growth as Christmas Moss, at about half the size. The finer fronds suit nano tanks and detailed hardscape.
It comes in a sealed tissue-culture tub, grown sterile — no pest snails, duckweed, nuisance algae, or fish pathogens. Ready for shrimp tanks and planted aquariums.
Key features
- Small, fine fronds that keep scale in nano tanks
- Sterile tub culture — no hitchhikers
- Grows down and out, forming layered cushions over wood and rock
Water and system compatibility
Freshwater aquariums only. Not for marine or reef systems. Grows in low-tech tanks; CO2 is optional but gives tighter, clearer triangular shoots.
What’s included

Directions
How to attach
- Open the tub, lift out the moss, and rinse off gel or liquid under cool tap water.
- Cut it into thin, small patches. Large clumps rot in the middle from lack of light and flow.
- Fix the patches with a small smear of aquarium-safe cyanoacrylate gel, or tie them on with fine moss cotton thread. It anchors in a few weeks.
Conditions
Moderate light keeps the downward, tree-like shape. In very low light the branches stretch and lose that form. Cooler water (towards 18°C–26°C) suits it better.
Maintenance
Keep steady flow through the moss — the fine fronds trap waste and can grow hair algae. Trim the top layers with sharp scissors, and net out loose pieces so they do not settle and root elsewhere.
Water parameters
