Aquasonic Methylene Blue Solution is an Australian antiseptic for ornamental aquarium fish. It is used for fungus on eggs, white spot (ich), superficial fungus, external wounds, missing scales, and ammonia burn. It is also used for ammonia or nitrate poisoning, and for low oxygen in the tissues after cyanide exposure.

Methylene blue stains silicone, airline, ornaments, clothing, and skin. It can set back nitrifying bacteria. A hospital tank is recommended for active infections.

For ornamental fish only. Do not use on fish intended for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Water and system compatibility

Freshwater and marine. Do not use in reef tanks, with corals or other marine invertebrates, or in tanks with live plants.

Directions

1. Remove activated carbon and other chemical filter media. Lower the flow on an under-gravel filter.
2. Fungus and white spot: add 5 mL per 20 litres. Repeat once a day for 4 days. Change 25% of the water before each dose after the first.
3. Fish eggs: add 1 mL per 15 litres in the hatching tank.
4. Wounds or poisoning: in a separate container, add 1 mL per 3.8 litres. Bathe the fish for no more than 30 minutes with strong aeration, then return the fish to the tank.
